Carpenter Bees did the hard work first in this unique platter which celebrates nature at work.  In fact, they stuck around for a while as I was turning it on the lathe.  I stopped to assess progress and one crawled out of a hole.  He was surely dizzy, so I helped back to outside and set him on his way.  I sure hope he appreciates it and puts more holes in my stock!
 
This Mesquite bowl is 14" diameter by 3" tall. 
Finished with three coats of spray lacquer.  Food safe.
 
Wooden bowls are intended to be art pieces.  The finish is food safe and there's not much you need to do for care.  If it's dusty, carefully dust it.  A can of compressed air works great!
 
If you intend to use it for food, some fruit is a nice touch.  Keep the bowl dry though, water is the enemy.
 
Hold the bowl with two hands from the bottom, never from the top edge.
